Windows 12 Ai, the next version of Microsoft’s operating system, will be released in June 2024. The information comes from a report in the Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times.
Microsoft has not commented on the existence of a new Windows nor cited any launch window for a future platform. The Taiwanese publication is the first to supposedly set the system’s launch date. Cited in a report on a health conference held in the country.
According to the publication, next year will be known as the “first year of the AI PC“. The first computers truly focused on generative artificial intelligence (AI) and large databases. This will happen alongside the “new generation of Windows“. This combination would have excited local brands such as MSI, Acer, and Gigabyte.
None of them directly mentioned the Microsoft platform. However, the report seems to indicate that they have already learned about the company’s plans and are already strategically preparing for 2024.
What to expect from Windows 12?
According to rumors from recent months, Windows 12 should have greater integration with AIs. The focus would be on internal platforms, such as the recently launched Copilot. However, the system must be capable of running language models in an integrated way.
There is also speculation that the next Windows will not be offered as a free update for those who already have a PC with previous versions of the platform.
Intel is one of the partnerships that would already be working with Microsoft to optimize Windows 12 with the company’s processors. So far, none of this information has been officially confirmed by the company.
The current version of Microsoft’s operating system for desktop computers, notebooks, and tablets, Windows 11 was announced in June 2021 and officially made available four months later.
